Abergele Rail Disaster 1868

We continue to produce films to tell the story of local historical events and local people who have a story to tell. We produced a film: “The Fate of the Irish Mail” This tells the story of the Abergele Rail Disaster of 1868. Local people came together to help tell this story. It has been seen by over 2000 people at a variety of venues.  A commemorative  service was held on the 20th August, 2018 at St. Michael’s Church, Abergele to mark the 150th anniversary followed by a showing of the film. Please contact me if you wish me to show the film to your local group or organisation. There is now a DVD available. Tel; 01745 853615

Here is an introduction to the film:

We completed the film to tell the story of Bernard Willems, artist and WW2 survivor during the occupation of Belgium. He was arrested 22 times by the Gestapo and lived to tell the tale! Here is a film clip of a re-enactment of Belgian refugees which Bernard told us about. A terrifying event!

The Bernard Willems film has now been completed and has been shown at Denbigh and the Scala Cinema, Prestatyn. A DVD of the film is now available. Please contact me for further details. 01745 812551
